IBM Releases Granite 4.2 Reasoning LLMs in Three Sizes
IBM's Granite 4.2 family of dense, decoder-only reasoning LLMs is now available in 3B, 8B, and 30B sizes. Pre-trained from scratch on ~15T tokens, they feature a 512K context window, thinking/non-thinking modes, low-effort reasoning, and native tool calling. The 8B and 30B models undergo agentic RL. All are Apache 2.0 licensed.
