Anthropic ships Claude Sonnet 5.5 as default Sonnet model in Claude Code v2.1.284
Claude Code v2.1.284 adds Claude Sonnet 5.5 (claude-sonnet-5-5), now the default Sonnet model on the Anthropic API, with 1M context and pricing of $2/$10 per million tokens and $0.20 per million cache reads. The release also adds gateway spend-limit dollar amounts, new keybindings, and MCP reconnect commands.
